Performance on the beach

Gentofte kommune through Tranen invited artist Jette Hye-Jin Mortensen to create a beach performance at Hellerup Beach as part of their Kultur og Festdage. She created the group performance “Jeg føler mig selv som…” and invited me as one of the performers. It was a wonderful experience, where I  investigated the proces of being way too aware of my own act to be more and more grounded into my body – a travel into myself in a public space.

I can feel, I still act, when I have to perform other people’s material and design – I am still more comfortable in my own skin and material. It is a good and healthy challenge to be placed in a different setting and another artist’s concept. The beach was friendly, curious and I was given the gift of meeting myself in a public space.
